Jute rope is the traditional rope used for Shibari/Kinbaku bondage. It has the most tooth of any natural fiber rope.

Our Jute rope is hand finished with Jojoba oil and then the "fuzz" is burned off for a smooth Jute rope.

We also include a small amount of Jojoba oil with every Jute order so you can re-oil it again.

Although we burn the fuzz off, you will need to burn it off again 1-2 times after some use.

Natural fiber ropes are often preferred in their natural color. Powerful yet never clashing, these ropes draw the eye to the intricacies of the rope bondage, showing the rigger's confidence in their Shibari. Many of the most celebrated rope artists on the planet use undyed ropes.

Black is the color of authority and power. It was adopted by the dominants of the old guard BDSM, where it came to represent interest and proficiency in sadomasochistic play (S/m), especially whipping.

Teal combines the calming properties of blue with the renewal qualities of green. It is a revitalizing and rejuvenating color that also represents open communication and clarity of thought.

The ends are finished with "Triple Wall Knots" which are secure, decorative, small knots. Knotted ends are also ideal for suspension as there's less risk of joined rope coming apart.

PROS:

  • Traditional
  • Relatively cheap
  • Safe for use with suspension* (not recommend for uplines though)

CONS:

  • Needs care (burning fuzz, oiling)
  • Not as strong as Hemp or Synthetic rope

* Although Jute is  suitable for suspension, please note you do so at your own risk. Suspension bondage, or any bondage for that matter, should not be taken lightly. We also do not recommend Jute for uplines, though many riggers do use it.
